How to select a Hydraulic Pump?

1. Whether to require variable
According to different structures, hydraulic pumps can be classified as vane pumps, gear pumps, piston pumps and screw pumps (not commonly used). According to whether the flow rate changes, can be divided into quantitative pump and variable pump.
Constant speed, choose a quantitative pump, there are gear pumps and double-acting vane pump; if the requirement of the pump flow variable, can choose single-acting vane pump and piston pump.
2. System pressure
When choosing a hydraulic pump, should consider making the pump has a certain pressure reserve, the rated working pressure of the hydraulic pump should be 10%-20% higher than the system working pressure.
Generally speaking, in low pressure (high pressure less than 7Mpa) working conditions, what type of pump can be used. High pressure (high pressure less than 60Mpa) working conditions should choose piston pumps, gear pumps are used more in the medium pressure (high pressure less than 32Mpa) working conditions. Vane pump, screw pump in the low pressure application is more economical.
3. Working environment

4. Noise index
Under the same working conditions, the noise generated by the hydraulic pump varies with the type of pump. 5. Efficiency

6. Application occasions
Vane pumps are generally used only in non-regulating hydraulic systems, such as machine tools, hydraulic presses, vehicles, construction machinery and plastic injection machines in the hydraulic system. Gear pumps are mostly used in machine tools, construction machinery, mining machinery, agricultural machinery. Piston pumps, especially axial piston pumps, are widely used in high-power hydraulic systems that require high pressure, high flow and need regulation, such as forging machinery, transportation machinery, mining machinery, metallurgical machinery, ships, aircraft, etc.
When choosing a hydraulic pump, in addition to the above factors, the designer of the hydraulic system and the use of maintenance personnel should also take into account other factors, such as safety pressure, the highest working pressure of the system, the compatibility of the entire system and other basic factors. At the same time, the manufacturer's reputation, maintenance and the availability of accessories, etc., is also the issue to be considered when choosing a hydraulic pump.
